Set in the 1940s rural China, Mr. Donkey is a dark comedy presented on stage by Thus Spoke Ann Arbor. A group of urban educators travel to rural China for voluntary teaching, and the story evolves with each character’s greed, lust, romance and responsibility. The design project involves planning, budgeting and pulling historic garments that best suit the ideal visual language of the play.
